About CVLOA
The Central Virginia Lacrosse Officials Association (CVLOA) was founded in 2006 for the primary purpose of:
- Providing officials for youth, boy’s and men’s lacrosse games in the central Virginia area
- Supporting, growing and developing the sport of lacrosse throughout central Virginia
- Training, education, and certification of persons officiating the sport of lacrosse in order to promote player safety and honoring the game through fair and impartial officiating
- Instruction and education of players, coaches, parents, and fans of the sport of lacrosse and the rules governing play
CVLOA partners with over 60 officials for both Virginia High School League (VHSL) contests and boy’s youth lacrosse games in the central Virginia area, supporting approximately 34 schools and organizations. CVLOA members are independent contractors.

Coaches Meeting – February 15
First Practice & Scrimmages – February 19 thru March 10
Season Opening – March 11
Regional playoffs – Start May 17; End May 28
State Championships:
– Quarterfinals – May 31-June 1 (@ home sites)
– Semifinals – June 4-5 (@ home sites)
– Finals – June 8 (Class 2-4 – Albemarle County; Class 5-6 Henrico County)
2024 NFHS Rule Changes:
